On July 26, Information Office of Qingdao Municipal People’s Government held a press conference to introduce the economic operation of Qingdao City in the first half of 2021. According to the unified accounting results of the municipal GDP, in the first half of 2021, Qingdao's GDP was RMB 653.921 billion, up 13.8% year-on-year, with a two-year average growth of 6.7%. The year-on-year growth rate is higher than the national and provincial 1.1 and 1 percentage points, and the two-year average growth rate is higher than the national and provincial 1.2 and 0.6 percentage points.

In the next stage, Qingdao will better coordinate the COVID-19 prevention and control economic social development, speed up the release of domestic demand potential, focus on smooth economic circulation, strive to complete the annual economic and social development goals, take new steps in promoting the Qingdao high-quality development.
